Architectural and Engineering Portfolio
Project 1 : Pre-Design Analysis
In a group, we are required to go to the site to perform investigation and analysis in Jalan P.Ramlee. In this pre-design phase, we are required to conduct studies on users and the contextual conditions of the site, and conduct research on guidelines, ongoing activities and future developments.
We will assemble all the parts and pieces of the bigger picture:
1. Brief historical background of the place and site
2. Reviewing building code and local or city ordinance
3. Initiative on establishing design parameters
4. Take initiative consider and study solar analysis and other site specific analysis
5. Research on precedents or do actual visitation to projects related and directly relevant to the proposal
6. Research on demography, user profile and understanding who we are designing for.
Project 2 : Architectural Proposition and Design Strategy Proposal
A more detailed and finalized Project Brief will be developed in this part of the project (Project 1b), the second stage of the 3 part project. This project is separate into two part, which are architectural proposition and design strategy proposal.
Architectural Proposition
In this stage, students will take the pre-design analysis into the next level individually. The work will include:
a. write the final Project Brief
b. fully develop the programme or project requirements
c. diagrammatically show analysis on site-strategies
d. develop and resolve space programming
e. rationalize with a programme and design related research and precedent studies.

Project 3 : Detailed Design and Final Executive Report
Final Design Presentation
Once the design strategy has been fully developed, we are required to come up with a fully resolved design. Design should demonstrate our ability to integrate considerations for technology environment and cultural context through a finalized architectural design. As degree graduating students, the work is expected to have a high thinking skills (conceptualization), structural sense (buildability), sensitivity (key issues & environment), maturity (considering by laws & compliance with regulations), exploration (tectonic thinking and creative use of materials & space) and workability (a well referenced spatial organization & planning).
