Project 1: Research Poster (Capturing, Experiencing and Analyzing the Place)

Introduction

Re-presenting Place is an elective module which aims to examine and explore the urban landscape through the act of research and exhibition. It emphasizes on the processes of experiencing, capturing, interpreting and re-presenting interesting places within the built environment into three dimensional works Proposed Site(s) for research study are within the city of Kuala Lumpur.

The objectives of this project are as follow:

1. To introduce the urban-related issues of the city in relation to architecture and the built environment.

2. To introduce research and exhibition as a strategies for learning architecture and urbanity.

3. To develop self-directed and analytical skills in planning, conducting and presenting architecture.

Project 2: Interpreting and Representing the Place ‘A Visual Expression’

Introduction

The aim of project is to interpret and translate your research into a visual representation and concept. In the previous Project and exercises, you were asked to plan, document and analyse data; in this project, you are required to extract an abstracted design or form that will represent the qualities and your perception about the place & theme. After the abstracted concept is finalize thru series of exploration, you are then required to translate and represent it into a form (a 3D wall artwork). Creative work or production refers to the visualization of research into something tangible ‘ form ‘ as representing the place, in an experimental manner that manifests and realizes your visualization.

The objectives of this project are as follow:
